KindCrew – Volunteer Portal PHP Project with QR Check-in & Certificates

KindCrew is a volunteer portal PHP project built with PHP 8, MySQL and Bootstrap 5. NGOs, trusts and college clubs publish volunteer events such as beach clean-ups, reading camps, blood camps and marathons, each with its own roles and seat limits. Volunteers find events by city, cause and date, join one role, show a QR pass at the venue, collect volunteer hours and download a certificate that anyone can verify online.

How it works

• Organizer registers and is verified by the admin, then creates an event with 1-6 roles and seats
• Admin approves the event and it becomes public with live seat bars
• Volunteer joins a role - seats are locked, age and time clash are checked, a 6-letter pass code is made
• Organizer approves the volunteer; for events with a kit fee the volunteer pays through Razorpay (test mode) or demo mode and gets a receipt
• On the event day the organizer types the pass code or scans the QR with a webcam - attendance and hours are saved
• Organizer issues certificates in one click; each has a verify code and QR for the public verify page
• Volunteer sees hours, Bronze / Silver / Gold badges, certificates and gives feedback

Frequently asked questions

Does it need internet? No. All libraries are inside the project and payment works in demo mode offline. Razorpay test mode needs internet. Can I run it on XAMPP? Yes. Copy the folder to htdocs, import the SQL file in phpMyAdmin and open it in the browser. Is the webcam needed for check-in? No. The 6-letter pass code can be typed; the webcam scan is an extra option. Is documentation included? Yes - report, abstract, explanation with viva Q&A and setup guide, all as PDF.
