ReHome - Second Hand Furniture Marketplace

ReHome - Second hand furniture marketplace PHP project is a complete web application for buying and selling used sofas, beds, wardrobes, dining tables, office chairs, study tables, bookshelves and TV units city by city. Sellers post listings with photos, original price and asking price; the admin approves every listing before it goes live. Buyers choose their city, filter the items, talk to the seller through an enquiry and reserve the item with a token payment.

How it works

• Seller registers as Individual or Dealer and is approved by the admin
• Seller posts a listing with up to 3 photos, condition, age, size and price (with a fair price hint)
• Admin approves or rejects the listing with a remark
• Buyer chooses a city, filters by category, price, condition and delivery, and sends an enquiry with an offer
• Buyer and seller talk in the enquiry thread; the seller accepts the final deal (only one deal per item)
• Buyer pays a 10% token (Razorpay test mode or demo mode) and gets a printable receipt; the item becomes Reserved
• At pickup the buyer gives a 6-letter handover code (with QR); the seller enters it and the item is marked Sold

Frequently asked questions

Does it need internet to run? No. Everything runs on XAMPP offline; demo payment mode works without internet.

Is Razorpay payment real? It uses Razorpay test mode only, so no real money is charged. You can switch between test mode and demo mode from Admin > Settings.

Can three students divide the work? Yes. The README and explanation document give a clear 3-student split and a 3-demo plan.

Which software is needed? XAMPP (PHP 8 + MySQL), any browser and a code editor.
