About this project

Parking slot booking system PHP project - Parkify lets drivers see free bays of malls, stations and market parkings for an exact date and time, book one bay for their car, bike or electric car and get a QR parking pass. Parking owners list their parkings with levels and bays and run check-in and check-out from a laptop at the gate. The admin approves owners and parkings and prints reports. Built in core PHP 8 and MySQL, easy to understand and explain in viva.

How it works

  • Owner registers, admin approves him; owner adds a parking with levels and car / bike / EV bays
  • Driver adds a vehicle and searches a city for date, time and hours
  • Driver picks a free bay on the live slot map - bays that do not fit the vehicle are faded
  • The bay is locked and held for 15 minutes while the driver pays (Razorpay test mode or demo mode)
  • A QR parking pass is issued; the owner scans it with the laptop camera at the gate
  • At exit the system adds an extra time charge after 15 minutes grace
  • Cancellation refund rule: 100% / 50% / none; late vehicles become No Show automatically

Does it need internet? No. It runs on XAMPP; demo payment mode works offline. Is the payment real? No. Razorpay is used in test mode only, so no real money is taken. Can it be explained by three students? Yes. The README and report give a three-student work split and a three-demo plan. Does the QR scan need special hardware? No. It uses the laptop webcam in the browser. The booking code can also be typed.
