About this project

FarmCrate - Online Vegetable Ordering System PHP Project connects farmers directly with city customers. Farmers list what they harvested with a photo, price, stock, harvest date and shelf life. Customers see who grew every vegetable and when it was picked, add items from many farmers to one cart, choose a delivery slot and pay online or by cash on delivery. The hub admin verifies farmers, approves listings, delivers orders with an OTP and settles farmer payments.

How it works

  • Farmer registers his farm and lists produce; admin verifies the farmer and approves the listing
  • Customer checks the pincode, filters vegetables (category, picked today, village, price, organic) and adds items to the cart
  • Checkout locks the stock and the delivery slot place, so the last kilo or slot is never sold twice
  • Customer pays with Razorpay (test mode), demo payment or cash on delivery; unpaid online orders auto-cancel after 30 minutes
  • Each farmer accepts his part, marks unavailable items (bill reduced and refunded) and packs it
  • Hub sends the crate out for delivery and marks it delivered only with the customer's 4-digit OTP
  • Customer rates the farmers; admin settles farmer earnings with a UTR reference

Frequently asked questions

Does it run without internet? Yes. Everything works offline on XAMPP in demo payment mode; internet is needed only for the Razorpay test checkout.

Is the payment real? No. Razorpay runs in test mode only, so no real money is charged.

Is it enough for a group of 3 students? Yes. The README and the explanation document give a 3-student work split and a 3-demo plan.
