MedEase - Online Medicine Order System with Prescription Verification

Online medicine order system PHP project - MedEase is a web based medicine ordering portal for a retail pharmacy. Customers search medicines by brand or salt, compare cheaper substitutes and order over-the-counter medicines directly. For prescription (Rx) medicines they upload a photo or PDF of the doctor's prescription, which a registered pharmacist checks before any Rx medicine can be ordered. Orders are paid online (Razorpay test mode / demo) or by cash on delivery, tracked step by step and delivered with an OTP.

How it works

• Customer searches medicines by name or salt and sees Rx / OTC tags and cheaper substitutes.
• Customer uploads a prescription (JPG / PNG / PDF, with date and file checks).
• A pharmacist starts the review - the prescription is locked so two pharmacists never verify the same one.
• The pharmacist ticks a 5-point checklist and lists the allowed medicines with packs and dosage, then approves, asks for a clearer copy or rejects with a reason.
• Approved medicines go to the cart in one click; checkout allows an Rx medicine only if a valid prescription covers it.
• The order is saved in a transaction with stock row locks; payment by Razorpay test / demo or COD with a GST invoice.
• Pharmacist confirms, packs and sends the order out; the customer gives the delivery OTP and the order is Delivered.

Users

• Customer: search, substitutes, upload prescription, prescription status, cart, checkout, payment, GST invoice, order tracking with OTP, cancel.
• Pharmacist: prescription queue with review lock, 5-point verification, allowed medicines, order steps with delivery OTP, stock and expiry.
• Admin: dashboard with charts, categories, medicines, customers, pharmacist approval, prescriptions, orders and refunds, payments, reports, enquiries, settings.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need internet? No. Bootstrap, charts, QR library and fonts are inside the project; it runs on XAMPP offline in demo payment mode. Is the payment real? No. It uses Razorpay test mode or a demo Simulate Payment button - no real money is taken. Can I add my own medicines? Yes, from Admin > Medicines with picture, price, stock, expiry and Rx / OTC type. Is it enough for a group of 3 students? Yes. The README gives the work split and demo script for 3 students.
