TrayTime - College Canteen Food Ordering System

TrayTime is a college canteen food ordering system PHP project built for BCA, BSc and MCA students. In a short college break everybody reaches the canteen at the same time; TrayTime moves ordering out of the queue. Students and college staff pre-order breakfast, lunch or snacks for today or tomorrow, choose a 15-minute pickup slot, pay from a canteen wallet, online or at the counter, and collect a ready tray with a daily token number and a 4-digit pickup code.

The kitchen works from a live token board (New, Preparing, Ready) and a pickup counter that checks the code or scans the QR with a webcam, while the admin manages the menu, slots, students, kitchen staff, payments and sales reports.

How it works

• Student registers with college ID; the canteen admin approves the account
• Student browses today's menu with portions left, adds dishes to the tray and opens checkout
• Checkout shows 15-minute pickup slots with trays free; slot capacity, dish daily limit and wallet balance are locked in one transaction
• Payment by canteen wallet, Razorpay test checkout (or demo button) or pay at counter
• The order gets a daily token (T-001) and a 4-digit pickup code with QR
• Kitchen staff click Start and Mark Ready; the token turns green on the canteen TV board
• At the counter the code / QR is checked, cash is taken for counter orders and the tray is handed over; the student rates the order
