About this project

OVERVIEW ShopSathi is a ready-to-submit final year project: an Android shopping app with an AI customer support chatbot, plus a PHP + MySQL admin web panel. The chatbot (Sathi) understands questions about order status, delivery, returns, warranty and products, and replies in Hinglish or English. If Gemini is not reachable, an offline fallback bot still answers common questions.

WHO IS IT FOR BCA, MCA, BE/BTech (CS/IT), diploma and BSc IT students who need a working Android project with AI, a real database and a full report.

THREE ROLES

  1. Customer - browse shop, cart, place orders, track orders, chat with Sathi, request returns.
  2. Support Agent - sees handed-over chats, replies live, closes chats.
  3. Admin (web panel) - manages products, orders, customers, agents, FAQs, chat logs, reports and settings.

HOW THE CHAT WORKS The customer opens "Ask Sathi" and types a question. The app sends the question with store data (orders, FAQs, return policy) to Gemini. Sathi answers, can start a return request, and can hand the chat to a human agent. After handover, the app refreshes the chat every few seconds so customer and agent talk in near real time.

ADMIN PANEL Bootstrap 5 dashboard with chats per day, most asked topics, AI resolved percentage and agent handovers. 16 admin pages with form validation and prepared statements.

How to run it

  1. 1Install XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL.
  2. 2Extract the project ZIP.
  3. 3Copy Web_PHP/14-support-chatbot to C:\xampp\htdocs\academic-projects\.
  4. 4Open phpMyAdmin, create database android_support_chatbot and import Database/android_support_chatbot.sql.
  5. 5Check config/db.php (default XAMPP user root, empty password).
  6. 6Open Android_App/ShopSathi in Android Studio and let Gradle sync.
  7. 7Keep the default server IP 10.0.2.2 for the emulator, or enter your PC IP for a real phone.
