About the project

Many students do not notice that their mood has been falling for days, and many hesitate to visit the counselling cell. The AI Mental Wellness Mood Tracker Android project (app name: Sukoon) gives students a private daily space to check in with their feelings, write a journal and talk to a kind AI companion, and it connects them with college counsellors at the right time, only with their consent.

How it works

  • The student taps a mood face and adds a 1-10 score, triggers (exams, sleep, family...), sleep hours, energy and a note in under a minute.
  • Google Gemini, called from the app, gives a short tip, reads journal entries (mood, themes, reflection, tips) and replies as "Sukoon AI" in chat.
  • Without an API key or internet, an offline word-list analyser written in Java gives the same type of output.
  • Self-harm words in English or Hinglish instantly show the Tele-MANAS 14416 helpline.
  • A low-mood rule (days and limit set by the admin) opens a support screen and alerts counsellors if the student allows sharing.
  • Students book free sessions in counsellor time slots and can share a 14-day mood summary.
  • Insights show trend charts, top triggers, sleep pattern and a downloadable PDF report.
