About the project
Most students choose a stream or degree because a relative or friend suggested it, not because they know their own strengths. Professional career counselling with psychometric tests is costly and rarely available in small towns. This AI career guidance Android project gives every student a scientific career report on the phone: it measures aptitude, interests and academic marks, and turns them into clear career, course and college suggestions. When the student needs personal advice, the app connects them to a real counsellor who can see the full report before the session.
How it works
- The student registers in a 3-step wizard (personal, academic, password) and takes a timed aptitude test - logical, numerical, verbal and spatial sections, random questions, scored on the server.
- An interest test based on Holland's RIASEC model finds the student's interest profile (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional).
- The student enters 10th / 12th marks and can attach the marksheet.
- The app sends the profile and the system's own careers list to Google Gemini, which returns the top 5 careers with match percentage, reasons, courses and a skill roadmap.
- Every AI answer is checked against the database; if AI is not available, an offline matching algorithm (40% aptitude + 35% interest + 25% marks) makes the report, so a report is always produced.
- The student explores colleges and courses, ticks off roadmap steps, downloads a PDF career report and books a counsellor in a free slot.
