About the project

Small farmers often get crop advice late, in a language they cannot read easily, and without thinking about the coming rain. This AI farmer advisory Android project solves that with voice. The farmer taps the mic, speaks in Marathi, Hindi or English, and the app replies in the same language - on screen and by voice - with short practical steps and a weather-aware tip like "rain is expected tomorrow, spray this evening". Leaf photos are checked by Gemini Vision and then confirmed or corrected by the agriculture officer of the farmer's taluka, who also sees which problems are spreading in which village.

How it works

  • Farmer registers with district, taluka, village and preferred language, then adds farms and crops (sowing date gives the growth stage).
  • Farmer speaks the question; Android Speech-to-Text converts it to Marathi / Hindi / English text.
  • The app reads the 5-day forecast of the taluka from the free Open-Meteo weather API.
  • Question + crop stage + weather go to the Google Gemini API, which returns problem, risk, steps and a weather tip in JSON.
  • The answer is shown, read aloud with Text-to-Speech and saved in MySQL through Volley and PHP APIs.
  • Without internet or API key, an offline keyword-based answer list (managed by admin) is used.
  • Pest photos are checked by Gemini Vision and sent to the officer, who confirms, changes or plans a field visit.
