About this project

About the project

Many final year students lose placement chances because their resume does not match the job role and they never practise answering questions aloud. This project solves both problems in one Android app and also gives the placement cell a clear view of which students are ready for a drive.

How it works

  • Student fills profile, education, skills, projects and certifications in short guided forms.
  • Student picks a target job role; Gemini AI writes the profile summary, project bullet points and skill order for that role and gives an ATS score with tips.
  • Resume is created as a PDF in 3 templates (Classic, Modern, Simple) - preview, download and share.
  • Mock interview: role-wise questions are read aloud, the student answers by speaking (Speech-to-Text) and AI gives a score, strengths and improvement points for every answer.
  • A placement readiness score (profile + resume + interviews) is shown to the student, officer and admin.
  • Works even without internet AI: basic resume and offline keyword-based interview scoring.

How to run it

  2. 2Copy the Web_PHP\resume_coach folder into C:\xampp\htdocs
  3. 3Open phpMyAdmin and import Database\resume_coach.sql
  4. 4Open http://localhost/resume_coach and login as admin
  5. 5Paste a free Gemini API key in admin Settings
  6. 6Open Android_App\ResumeCoach in Android Studio and wait for Gradle sync
  7. 7If asked to select Gradle JVM, click Use JVM 21
  8. 8Run the app and enter server IP 10.0.2.2 (emulator) or your computer's IPv4 (phone)
